I placed this class of Junior Bucklings as:

A-B

Entry A places over Entry B in General Appearance.  Entry A is more open in the escutcheon, longer in bone especially from hips to pin with a longer leaner neck.

Entry B although standing last in this class is to be commended for his good General Appearance having a level topline being higher in the withers, and he has a flat shoulder blending smoothly into the chest wall.

Placing: B, A

B is placing over A for the advantage in dairy strength, he is a longer bodied buck at this stage of growth showing more angulation in the rear leg set.

A is showing good depth of body just needs more maturity to really see the general appearance come together.

I placed this class of Intermediate Bucklings as:

A-G-B-D-C-E-F

Entry A places over Entry G in General Appearance.  Two nice bucklings however, Entry A has the advantage showing longer in bone, more level in his topline and a little more length to his neck.

Entry G over Entry B in General Appearance.  Entry G has more width in the fore legs with a tighter toe set, wider between the hocks with a more incurving thigh and smoother blending through his topline.

Entry B over Entry D in Body Capacity due to his length of body from withers to hips, deeper in the heart girth and barrel and has the increasing depth from heart girth to flank.

Entry D over Entry C in General Appearance for his width throughout, longer in the loin and hips to pins and sharper in the withers.

Entry C over Entry E in General Appearance for showing more angulation around the hocks from the side and rear, more level in his topline and has a longer leaner neck.

Entry E over Entry F in General Appearance for his width in the chest floor and from hips to pins, longer in the loin and smoother blending of neck into withers.

Entry F although standing last in this class is to be commended for his height at the withers and extension of brisket.

Placing G, D, A, F, E, B, C

G has the advantage in general appearance for feet and legs. When viewed from the front and rear he is standing more squarely on all four feet. He is showing the most substance of bone pattern and width in the rump and loin when viewed from the top.

D is placing over A for the length of body, particularly the length and cleanliness of his neck and correct shape and placement of his front shoulder on the chest wall.

A is placing over F for the strength and fullness in his crops and the levelness of his chine, showing more body capacity and depth of heartgirth at this stage of development.

F has the advantage over E being more balanced in general appearance. He is slightly less hip high at this stage of growth and showing more incurving of thigh from the pin bone to the stifle. When viewed from the top he is more correct at the point of shoulder allowing smoother blending in the crops.

E is placing over B for Body capacity, he is simply deeper and wider throughout. Particularly in the chest floor and when viewed from the top wider in the loin and rump.

B and C are very similar bucks but B has the advantage today in feet and legs. He has all four feet more squarely underneath him when viewed from the front and rear. B is also showing a bit more of a dairy wedge shape when viewed from the side with more depth of rear barrel.

C is long and angular but would like to see more substance of bone to have the dairy strength to be more competitive in this class.

I placed this very nice class of Senior Bucklings as: A-B-C-D-E

Entry A places over Entry B in General Appearance.  Entry A is higher in the escutcheon with more angulation in the thighs, more level in his topline and longer from hips to pins giving a smoother blend from loin into the rump.

Entry B over Entry C in General Appearance.  Entry B is wider in the chest floor, higher in the escutcheon area with more width between the hocks, and smoother blending of the neck into the withers.

Entry C over Entry D in Body Capacity for his length of bone especially from hips to pins, smoother blending through his topline with a longer leaner neck.  Entry C does grant to Entry D his wide round escutcheon area.

Entry D over Entry E in General Appearance for standing on straighter stronger fore legs, a higher more rounded escutcheon area and smoother blending through his topline.

Entry E although standing last in the class is to be commended for his angulation of the thigh when viewed from the back and his extension of the brisket.

Placing: A D B C E

The top 3 in this class are all very close and strong buck kids.

A is showing the most balance in dairy strength and general appearance. He is stronger in his back and rump than D with more levelness from hips to pins, he is also more perpendicular in his rear legs from hock to pastern when viewed from the side and rear. He is also cleaner and more angular throughout than D.

D in his turn is placing over B for general appearance in his feet and legs. He is more straightforward  in his front toes and when viewed from the rear is showing more outcurving of thigh and arch and height into the escutcheon.

B then places over C for general appearance, the width in his chest floor the smoothness and blending from the neck into the withers and sharpness at the point of shoulder. He is also cleaner in the front knee.

C places over E for the length of bone pattern. He is longer especially through the back ans rump and C is more angular when viewed from the side profile. C will grant some width in the chest area.

It is the width in the chest floor and the nice continuous width in the back and rump that E will be commended for today.
